(Swaad) 38 : 11
جُنْدٌ مَا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ
An army is there from among different groups to be defeated.
Even though Maccan pagans were a single team for opposing Messenger, they were differentiated in the name of tribe and family majesty. That means they were opposing the Messenger and believers preferring selfishness. That is why it is told in this verse that they are to be defeated. As told in verse 11: 17, whoever hides Adhikr from different organizations of Fujjar and is not included in Allah’s party, then Hellfire is promised to him. See explanation 2: 113; 8: 62-63; 40: 4-5.
